Vision Board vs. Vision Journal: What We Like
Just like walking into the new year with a clean home, organization and a refreshed mind - here comes the GOALs, the VISION we want to hold onto for the start of the year and going forward. So, we break out the magazines that we stored to the side for this exact moment throughout the year (in my case years 🫣), maybe print some quotes we saw online that has meaning to us, scissors, glue, full on arts and crafts moment.
The Question: To Board or To Journal
Like probably everyone else I’ve always done Vision boards. Grabbed the poster board from the dollar store and glued away with making it pretty and cute to look at. But this was always in the moment “THE LOOK AT” part, because soon months would pass and dust would form on an afterthought known as vision board **insert year** in the back of a closet, behind a door – are you seeing the visuals here. But it would get lost in everyday life.
But if like when as a kid (well me anyway) you had the diary under your pillow, your bed or nightstand draw – this is where the Vision Journals came into place. The idea of being able to once again add our visions in the same manner as the board but on sheets of paper something we can grab for those middle-of-the-night ideas, last-minute goals, prayers etc. This would be something that’s in front and center whenever we need, maybe even to take on the go. For me this is more realistic.
This year, we added an additional element: our prayers, words of intention and a constant reminder of Gods role in our story.
So, ONE can possibly get TOSSED to the side and forgotten about. While the ONE can be FRONT AND CENTER and revisited, adjusted as the year goes on.
It’s really all about preference. So, what’s yours?
