Pencil Me In: Crochet Pattern
Looking for something fun and whimsical to celebrate back-to-school, you don’t have to look any further. Perfect for photo props, gifts for writers, or a special teacher in your life.
What started out as an ordinary freehand project for a quick photo prop, turned into a detail written pattern just for you. Here’s to a FREE pattern of our new favorite pencil stuffy.
For this pattern you will need to know basic crocheting - single crochet yarn under, increases and decreases, front/back loop only. If you have these then lets get started.

MATERIALS
Yarn - Medium weight (4) [Yellow, Pink, Tan, Grey, Black]
5m hook
Poly-fil
Stitch Marker
Darning Needle
Scissors
KEY
- Ch- chain
- Sc- single crochet
- Inc – increase
- dec – decrease
- slp – slip stitch
- blo – back loop only
- flo – front loop only
NOTE: All SINGLE CROCHET - SINGLE CROCHET YARN UNDER. EACH ROW CONNECTS WITH SC INTO THE FIRST STITCH (UNLESS OTHERWISE SPECIFIED) THIS COUNTS AS THE FIRST STITCH OF THE NEXT ROW.
ERASER (PINK)
ROUND 1
Make a magic circle, ch 1 (doesn’t count as a stitch), 10 sc in magic circle. Slp in the first stitch, ch 1. (10)

Inc x10. sc into first stitch – starts next row (20)
ROUND 4
(1 sc, inc) repeat entire row, sc into first stitch – starts next row. (30)
ROUND 5
(2 sc, inc) repeat entire row, sc into first stitch – starts next row. (40)

(3 sc, inc) repeat entire row, sc into first stitch – starts next row. (50)
ROUND 7
(4 sc, inc) repeat entire row, sc into first stitch – starts next row. (60)

Work SC x60 (60)
ROUND 11
It’s a bit tricky. Remove hook and turn your work, wrong side should now be facing you. We will now be working counterclockwise. Insert the hook around the sc post from pervious row before, SC x60. Slp into the first stitch of the row, ch 1.
ROUND 12
Sc into the same chain as Slp from previous row, SC entire row (60)

Add Stuffing.
