5-Minute Doodle & Devotional: A simple Daily Reset for January.

Happy New Year.

Oh, the thing we say every January 1st with plans of organizing, goal setting, and resolutions that somehow get tossed aside by February.

This isn’t that.

This is not a resolution. It’s a daily reset.

A few years ago, a friend asked me to do a simple daily doodle with her. Nothing structured. No Prompts. Just a creative check-in - five minutes to sit, draw, and breathe. Over time, I noticed how grounding those moments were.

Creating January’s Doodles, I decided to layer with Scripture. What begin as just a 5-minute doodle turned into a relaxing devotional. A reflection.

Something fun. Something Intentional. Something that leaves a quiet, lasting thought instead of pressure.

All you NEED is 5 minutes and a pen. Morning, Evening or Night.

Draw on paper, a napkin, digital whatever you can find - just DRAW.

Just Pause.

The part we tend to skip. We push through busy days, noise and responsibilities until exhaustion forces us to stop. Until there’s no will left to give.

This practice helps you pause before you get there.

Each day pairs a familiar, everyday image with a short scripture reference. You draw first - NO ARTISTIC SKILLS REQUIRED. Nothing to figure out. N expectations to feel inspired. Then you sit with the scripture as a reflection.

This isn’t about creating art. It’s about releasing stress.

Five minutes to breathe. Five minutes to reset. Five minutes to let the word settle naturally.

January doesn’t need more expectations.

So, Take five minutes. Grab a pen.

Not a resolution, a daily reset.
